Peacekeepers are Pacific City's law enforcement working for the Agency and The Agency Director. Composing mostly of enlisted residents, Peacekeepers work tirelessly to maintain law in the streets and as such are mostly used in lieu with the Agents.

Compared to most opposition, Peacekeepers fare well against the gangs and Cells grunts, utilizing their training and techniques to overwhelm them. However, against heavier armor and more experienced soldiers, they won't last as long. To compensate, Peacekeepers utilize a majority of the Agency's fleet of vehicles including man gun turrets to enforce the law. This is likely to combine the capabilities of a National Guard and SWAT.

As part of their training, they are also given clearance to open fire on Agents who cause too many civilian or peacekeeper causalities.

Crackdown[]

Peacekeeper

Peacekeepers in Crackdown, wear military-style berets and light body armor in the standard blue Agency colors and compose of both male and females.

Their weaponry consists of standard-issue Agency pistols and assault rifles, but these weapons are far less effective than in the hands of the Agents.

Peacekeepers can be found all over Pacific City, either patrolling or fighting off gang members, guarding The Keep (Agency Tower) and drop points.

Crackdown 2[]

Ss preview Peacekeeper grab

A Peacekeeper in Crackdown 2.

In Crackdown 2 The Peacekeepers are now all-male, and much better equipped than the ones seen in Crackdown. (Probably as a response to the threat of the Freaks and the recent infamous organisation known as The Cell).

They wear heavier body armour, now in khaki colours instead of the blue colours as seen in Crackdown and carry upgraded standard-issue Agency Assault Rifles.

They can also be found manning gun turrets located in captured strongholds and operating Cruisers, Buggies, Helicopters and Tanks.

Peacekeepers are mostly trained to handle low-level grunts but don't fare well against toughened oppositon. They also lack the capabilities to throw grenades, given their role as law enforcement than actual soldiers.

Peacekeepers can be all over Pacific City, either patrolling or fighting off Cell members or Freaks, in Buggies, Helicopters and Cruisers. Or guarding tactical locations, the Keep and Absorption Units.

Units[]

Peacekeepers have different variety type of ranks in the Agency that can be found in both games in the series.

Crackdown[]

"Enforcers"[]

Peacekeeper Enforcers are the main law unit in the Agency, They can easily be found anywhere in the map of Pacific City, Either: Driving in Dispatch Agency Five O’s, Security for buildings that used to have an enemy Faction General or Main Target located, And the Agency Tower. They carry Colby Masters and EAR50s made by the Agency themselves.

"Snipers"[]

Snipers are similar to Enforcers who as the name says, Carry Bastion SX900 Longshots instead. They are more effective than the normal Enforcer but are rarely seen sent patrolling into the city. They can be found at locations like the Agency Tower found on high places like walls or towers, And killing one and taking their SX900 Sniper to store makes it an early an easy way to get the weapon without getting it later on from the Agencies rival The Shai-Gen.

"Hitsquad"[]

Similar to the Shai-Gen Soldiers when they see you kill their own Citizens, Hitsquads are Peacekeeper Soldiers who come after the Agent if they cause too many Civilian casualties. The Agency would send any Peacekeeper troop who arrive in Hitsquad marked Cruisers to try and take you down, Like a gang would when sending their Hit Squads.

Crackdown 2[]

"Patroller"[]

Patrollers are a common Peacekeeper Unit that are scripted to do as their supposed to do, Patrol and drive in any vehicles they can use in Pacific City. Patrollers are not as armed compared to their other units, Due to only carrying just the Assault Rifle. They can be spawned in Keys to the City.

"Assaulter"[]

Similar to the Enforcers from the first game, Assaulters can be found either at the Agency Tower or Tactical Locations after being taken by the Agency. The difference between a Patroller and Assaulter is the Assaulters carry Grenades and can't drive vehicles. They can be spawned in Keys to the City.

"Drop Troopers"[]

A Peacekeeper Drop Trooper.

When the Agent captures enemy strongholds, Helicopters arrive to reinforce it with elite Drop Troopers, who wear a distinguished dark blue Peacekeeper uniform, along with slightly stronger body armour.

Drop Troopers are only ever seen after capturing a stronghold and will disappear shortly after leaving. Giving their flexible role in an aerial assault, Drop Troopers often pilot the Helicopters as well.

Drop Troopers have the same armament as the normal Peacekeepers. Drop Troopers are only seen after capturing cell strongholds, where helicopters deploy 4 drop troopers per chopper.

"Snipers"[]

A Peacekeeper Sniper.

Like the first game, Snipers are Peacekeepers assigned to watch duty with Agency Snipers. They don’t patrol in Vehicles anymore, But are positioned at key vantage points and opening fire on suspected Cell activity near their operation. They act, almost the same as Cell Snipers and can often dispatch Cell's most powerful members with ease. The Sniper Peacekeepers are the only Variant that cannot be spawned in Keys To The City, Making them more rare to find or even notice.

Trivia[]

  • The Peacekeepers in Crackdown and Crackdown 2 often complain about how inefficient they are compared to their Agent counterparts.
  • During the events in Crackdown 3, They are replaced by the Civilian Militias Units, Due to the Peacekeeper by this time being replaced by their Agent counterparts.
    • This can be heard by Peacekeepers in the second game mentioning at times how they will be replaced one day in future.
  • Peacekeepers will occasionally yell a quote (referring to the Agent) "He's here to kick ass and chew gum...and he's all out of that...", inspired quote from the title character in the 1996 video game "Duke Nukem 3D" and the 1988 Science Fiction film "They Live".
